Tribute to Toshio Imai (1939-2010)

Toshio Imai was born on November 22, 1939 in San Francisco, CA. He was a state champion swimmer in high school and set the record for the race from Antelope Island to Saltair. Toshio went to Michigan State University, and retired as an MSU employee. Toshio was a popular and respected chessplayer, along with a devoted patron supporter of Michigan Chess magazine and the Michigan Chess Association. Toshio passed away in April 2010 after a chronic illness.
