Spring Lake Caps Seventh Straight Undefeated Season

Spring Lake Varsity Chess players completed another undefeated season today.  After defeating Muskegon 18.5 - 6.5 on Thursday to go undefeated as a team for the seventh straight year, five Spring Lake students captured All-conference honors in the Lakes 8 Tournament on Saturday.  Out of 5 possible points, Ibs Hamati (4.5), Erik Erhorn (4), Quinn Hatton (4), Jacob Johnson (4), with Robert Pennell (3) earning Honorable Mention.  Other area players earning All-conference were: Matthew Traxler (5) and Dan Wharton (4) of Fremont; Taiga Ishigaki (4.5) of Muskegon; and Garret Perkins (4) of Newaygo. The Lakes 8 Tournament was hosted by Muskegon High Schools Dan Fishel.
