Back-to-Back wins! Before Monday's Round 8
I've bounced back slightly with two wins yesterday. I was hoping to go 2-0 again today, but I may have caught a cold or something. Ugh.
A Rough Start. After Seth's 5th round on Saturday
Sorry to say my tournament is nothing to brag about. 1 point out of 5. After two 6-hour contests ending in losses, I was drained and lost without a fight in the fifth round.
Impressions: Some big name Grandmasters here. Kamsky, Adams, Van Wely, Smirin. I've seen Michigan players Jack Wood, David Kvatadze, Ariel Levi and Michael Bowersock. I don't know how they are doing as I've been too preoccupied with my failures.
My game against IM Sarkar was very interesting. That game was on Monroi in round 3. It might even be of some opening theoretical importance. I sacrificed a pawn on like move 17 or 18 for some compensation.
