2010 Michigan Senior Preview

May 22nd – May 23rd 2010

Bailey the Unbeatable?

Greg Bailey
Mesick's Greg Bailey has won the Michigan Senior title three years running!

The Michigan Senior returns this year to Flint’s Kearsley High School, home of Mike Skidmore’s legendary chess program.   Will Greg Bailey repeat as top Michigan senior?  What about Paul Maginley, who has picked up close to 100 rating points since last year’s tournament?  Not to mention 2009 overall winner, Ontario expert Vlad Drkulec!

West Michigan has a number of very strong eligible players, including Life Masters Eric Fischvogt and Kevin Czuhai, as well as local hero Stan Jarosz.

Details on this year’s event can be found here:  http://www.michess.org/tools/viewevent.php?eventID=2123

Kevin Czuhai’s strict tournament diet regimen includes lots of fish.  And Halo Burger—best known for its olive burgers--has a great fried cod sandwich!
