2010 U.P. Open:  Endsley Again!

Congratulations to 2010 U.P. Open champion Barry Endsley.  Barry repeats his 2009 championship success.

Tony “Le Tigre” Nichols and Michigan Chess Association president Brad Rogers tied for first overall.  Fellow downstater Eddie Barber was third, followed by Barry Endsley, Sugar Island Chess Club organizer Glen Schmiege, and Sawaski protégé Russ McCracken.  Lake Superior Chess Association life time member Dave Sundeen kept his Ripkenesque streak alive, playing in his umpteenth consecutive U.P. Open.

Barber was 1st over 1700
Endsley was 2nd over 1700
Endsley won the trophy for top U.P. player
McCracken and Schmiege tied for 1st under 1700
Schaaf was 1st under 1400 and UNR

Last Men Sitting.  The last game to finish was Ken Boyer against Brad Rogers.  Brad knew that he needed the full point to share 1st overall with Le Tigre.  The game is discussed below.
