August Calvin

Local hero Stan Jarosz held August Calvin Winner NM Kevin Czuhai to a draw. Kevin has now won two tournaments in a row, yielding only two draws, both to Stan.
Kevin Czuhai won clear First in the Open Section at the August Calvin College Chess Challenge on Saturday August 7, 2010, scoring 3.5/4 in a tough field. Kevin’s last round game against Stan Jarosz was a thrilling, hard fought game which ended up as Kevin’s Rook versus Stan’s Knight, and Kevin graciously agreed to a draw in Stan’s severe time pressure. Ratko Bojanovic scored 3/4 to take Second Place, winning three fine games while falling to Kevin in Round 2. Michael Chen and Stan tied for 3-4 with 2.5/4, and Andy Catlin and Peter Chen tied for 5-6 with 2/4.
