Tournament Report
16 West Michigan players took part in a Quick-Rated King's Gambit Thematic at West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics in Spring Lake on February 6th.

Eric Fischvogt and Andy Catlin tied for first with 4.5 points out of 6. Eric took home the prize--a copy of David Bronstein's Sorcerer's Apprentice--by virtue of his victory in their head-to-head match up in Round 2.

Bennario Chapman scored an impressive upset against Allen Wickering.

Special thanks to Kevin Czuhai, who not only directed, but played two games at once in the first two rounds so that no one would need to take a bye!

Michael Chen and Jack Emaus. Michael upset eventual winner Eric Fischvogt. Jack played the black side of the Nimzowitsch Counter Gambit with great poise.
