Ratko is 2013 West Michigan Champion; Bill Adams wins Reserve
Ratko Bojanovic won the 2013 West Michigan Chess Championship. He now has reeled off 17 straight games without a loss!
Bill Adams, who usually graces tournaments only as a "house player," showed that he could go the distance, easily winning the Reserve section with 9.5 out of 12 points.
Outstanding performances were put in by Daniel Sajkowski, who saw his rating leap from 1840 to 2010, and by Alexander Bemben, whose rating jumped from 658 to 1050.
Hopefully Ratko will consider defending his title next summer!
The tournament was ably directed by Tigre Nichols, who also managed to tie for second overall with Sajkowski. The USCF rating report can be found here:

Details to follow. FM Sprenkle writes that:
"Tigre" Nichols played well throughout the tournament (including a draw against me), and he did me a huge favor by holding Arpuva Virkud to a draw by the skin of his teeth in the final round, enabling me to take first by myself. Virkud, Michael Chen and Tony tied for second.
