Homa Takes the Great Lakes!
FM Seth Homa won the 2012 Great Lakes Open, ceding only a fourth round draw to Dearborn Expert Thomas Hartwig.
 

2012 Great Lakes Open Champion FM Seth Homa is congratulated by Great Lakes Organizer Stan Beckwith. Stan works year round to make his tournament a jewel in the crown of the Michigan tournament circuit.

Forrest Reddick (Roseville) and Russell McCracken (Newberry) topped the reserve section.
 
Five U.P. players made the trip to Battle Creek. Reigning National Electronic Knights Correspondence Champion James Sawaski started on a tear, taking down two experts before losing to Homa and Michael Chen.
 

Epiphany Peters gave a well-attended lecture on Sunday morning.  Epiphany also scored a fine third place finish in the top section.

Daniel Libby had an outstanding tournament, scoring two wins and a draw against expert competition.
