Freddie Noe and Subhodh Kotekal Square Off in Kalamazoo
Freddie Noe's father sent me the following very interesting game from last weekend's tournament in Kalamazoo. I've added a few light annotations. I would suggest that both players are on their way to very good things.

West Michigan Academy of Arts & Academics Tournament
On December 8, 2007, three older players took on three of West Michigan's up-and-coming junior players (Ian Edgerle, Michael Chen, and Peter Chen) in a team tournament. Andy Catlin won all three of his game, but the kids hacked Gilbert Pointer and me to pieces! I managed one win and Gilbert managed one draw.

I've annotated my three games, and eight other games were annotated by various players. Enjoy!
Peter Chen Beats Kevin Czuhai!
On July 14, Peter Chen defeated Kevin Czuhai in a G/90 swiss tournament in Grand Rapids. Peter was rated 1549 and Kevin was rated 2200. Peter has annotated the game for us (provided to me by Tony Palmer).
West Michigan Dual III
Katy Ford ran another excellent tournament on September 8th. In anticipation of Saturday's tournament (10/6/2007) I have posted a brief report and also six annotated games from the September event.
GHAAC June Scholastic Tournament
Katy Ford has provided a very nice report on the Grand Haven Area Arts Council scholastic tournament held on June 16, 2007. The report also includes pictures and crosstables. Check it out!
Kalamazoo Midsummer Challenge
The Kalamazoo Midsummer Challenge took place June 23 at Western Michigan University. This was Katy Ford's first tournament as director! We have a full report available, along with seven annotated games. Take a look!
