3/3/2008I recently played in the Universal Winter Swiss. It was a very good tournament run by Ed Mandell. The first round was about 20 minutes late but every other round started on time. It was my first time back there and I have to say that their new store is a lot better than their old one. The tournament was run very well and the whole All The Kings Men staff helped out. Seth Homa and I were the only people there from the west side. Seth played very well, and had very hard competition finishing up with a nice 3.5/5.Dmitriy Obukhov won the tournament with 5/5. Ariel Levi came in second with 4.5/5 drawing Seth, and Ben Brandt and I tied for third with 4/5 I lost to the solid Ariel Levi. I was barely able to escape Tony West who by far put up the most fight and made a time preassure blunder dropping his queen in the endgame. Games coming soon. |
