The third West Michigan Dual of 2007 was held at Leonard Terrace Apartments in Grand Rapids on Saturday, September 8. Katy Ford ably directed the event and even provided some nice refreshments and even a cold-cut lunch.
The event included several major upsets. Gilbert Pointer (1426) upset Eugene Brumley (2032) in the last round of the Game/30 section. Faron Brewster (1440) beat Mike Schulte (1833) in the first round of the Game/90 section, while Jerry MacDonald (1174) beat Faron in the last round. These last two games are available, along with four others, in our annotated games.
